You might be referring to a few weeks ago when I couldn't sell a stock being it would've been a day trade and I already had 3 of them so I would've got a restriction. As for a cash account and a margin account, with a margin account you never get a call being that you are never using borrowed margin money. It's just a way they classify your account so that there is no 3 day wait period for funds to settle. I have a margin account for that purpose BUT, I never trade on margin and for all intents, it is a cash account only.
