Liberty Media's (NASDAQ: LMCA) CEO Greg Maffei floated a roughly $15/share for Pandora (NYSE: P), the Wall Street Journal reported mid-day Thursday, citing behinds the scenes maneuvering.

The offer was said not to be a formal one and was more of a "fishing expedition." Pandora already rebuffed the overture, the Journal said, as it believes its value is around $20 per share or more.

Pandora shopped itself to Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) and amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) earlier in the year, the report also stated.
