May 4-The computers at the apartment complex are still not as cooperative as I'd like, so I went to the uptown library. The morning air was a bit cool, enough for a wool shirt. By 10:30, it has warmed enough for a t shirt. It's May, after all.
But what will I do about Blackberry Winter? Rain this evening, maybe overnight into Friday, then lows in the 40s the next four days. I will simply have to delay transplanting more peppers or sowing melon seeds.
Meanwhile, some melon seeds have germinated with the little cotyledons peeking through. So have the National Pickling and Russian Pickling seeds in the bed next to the ledge. There is even a Moon & Stars poking through in the first watermelon hill. Will the cool conditions kill it?
I delivered 10 lettuce to Jerry. I hope he wants more. In the meantime, Leon, the security guard at the apartment complex, wants two heads and bag of Pink Beauty radish. The girls at the glass shop want some. I keep hitting on firestation #4 but so far nothing since Angie stopped by with a $20 bill.
Old Cadillacs never die. The finance company take 'em and faaaaade 'em away.
