As a patient and customer under the ACMPR, i've already done it. I don't have a problem with it at all. For starters, any kind of information privacy in our time is a thin and flimsy myth that the critical mind abandoned some time ago. As the numbers of patients are growing faster than expected, i would say that many people feel the same way. Will this translate to recreational with mail order? My guess is yes.
Canadians tend to somewhat proudly be law-abiding citizens, partially because they live in one of the most socially liberalized countries on the planet. Our government has recognized that greater freedoms, to a degree, are met with a greater sense of overall responsibility by the individuals that are given choices rather than told how to live. This will be have an influence on their behaviour towards legalization.
The other factor which will come into play here, with regard to your question, is the novelty factor. I suspect many, many people are itching to buy their first legal, gov sanctioned buds. I know i am. Make no mistake, day one of rec rollout is going to be a celebration as we become the first major economy to have the courage and foresight to make this happen, and will see a huge positive response. Most Canadians are going to embrace this. Of course, this is all my opinion, but i live in a pretty AWESOME country where i'm allowed to express it. We're absolutely headed in the right direction. It is unfortunate that certain elements who've helped pave the way are recalcitrantly and fruitlessly fighting against it. They will be dragged kicking and screaming into the future and beyond, i am sure.
