got your PM, thanks - can't respond in kind as i'm still a NOOB here, but i'll get to that point as soon as i make some real money based on any tip I get from this site ;)
VONGO is owned by Starz, so their content is assured via the existing STARZ agreements... which means plenty for them. But it's STARZ.. I mean, really - who cares?
GUBA did get a deal with WB but WB isn't a part of the multimegacorp that owns movielink (i might be wrong about that but i feel pretty certain - too many names to remember heh). During the deal they piped up about how they use microsoft's DRM (yawn) and i'm sure that helped them pass the "security" bar with WB legal. GUBA however is a usenet engine.
And they suffer from poor marketing - so even if they were better (which they're not) Reeltime already has a stronger brand.
I'm sure there's more content down the line and i'm positive both WB & SONY must be on Reeltime's list.
Even then, I think they'd only be 1/2way there - honestly I still feel we'd all make out MUCH better if they just sold the mechanism to Blockbuster (movielink ALMOST did that.. almost.. except the delivery technology sucks)
These things take time! For as long as i've been involved with post-production, people have been talking about media-servers that deliver content to your home (remember SGI going on about it back in the 80s?) on-demand.. but no-one has yet to do it in a way that is cost-effective enough for Mr & Mrs Trolleybasket.
But if ANYONE is poised to really turn the digital online delivery mechanism into a viable concern for the public, it's ReeltimeTV. Which is why I have my money invested in the first place.
