i think it depends on each situations. Certainly you are right in some companies it would not be an encouraging sign. However with the industry Sigma is in starting to take off, big money starting to enter it for a generational shift in manufacturing i am betting on Sigma to find potential which will drastically improve shareholder value.

They have a unique technology the market needs in order to reach production
They are backed with intellectual capital from the worlds leading physics lab @ Loa Alamos (remember the agreement for future commercialisation ideas, one wonders where the recent Photon idea patent originated)
They have incredibly high standing with the biggest names in the business.
They have incredibly high standing in Defence departments (USAF, DARPA Naval Research)


Mark said in the last call that opportunities abound. Their technology is proven in many other areas than just pure AM, yet they need to focus and grow from there. This company has big potential and allowing them to reach it is something that may well benefit long term shareholders above and beyond expectations
