I noticed the price of oil was around $32 per barrel back then using the dates in your DD. I think the timing was off for the deal back then because the price of oil was less than it cost the shale drillers to get the oil out of the ground. But now oil is over $50 and the Permian basin is hopping again. Demand for another refinery in the Basin is much greater now. So I think that proves nothing except the timing was bad back then and it is much better now.
