I used to do research and I have publications. When you publish a research paper, you are supposed to back up your statements and reasoning with either your own research data and cite other people's work. When the paper is published, it is reviewed and scrutinized by your peers around the world.
This is a chatting room, quite different from the academia world. But it is the same principle when disseminate information. If you post false information, soon or later you will get caught, and you will be bombarded by many nasty posts. When I post Chinese to English translation, I'm a little bit nervous because I could inject my personal opinion and have impact on other people's decision making. There are many readers who are bilingual could easily catch intentionally misleading translation.
I don't hold information back simply because I don't know the value of that information. For example, When I first reported the deal of 80 electric buses with Bahamas, and 100,000 EV, I had no clue the importance of its market value. It is the board sees the value. In return, I gain more confidence in my investment.
