There is this nagging thought that keeps creeping up. With all the bickering and finger pointing why doesn't the GSEs poor stewardship and the lack of monies accountability not taking center stage. They talk about housing and how it is holding back the economy and the banks lack of willingness to lend, but nothing about the biggest theft in history. If this was to hit main stream media, and I can't get my head around why it hasn't, and was play on every channel and talked about all day, something would happen one way or the other. How is it the media will take a whisper and turn it into a story and dialog, but skip hitting a story about executive privilege protecting documents that would shed light on an issue that has dragged out for over eight years. Is it to big to believe or is our government making calls to silence them.
I see the problem as most people aren't involved in investing and so they aren't thinking about this crime as just more of what goes around comes around. They need to hear how it affected their savings and the years missed that they will not make up. They need to think about their retirement accounts. But that too might be part of the problem as many see it too far down the road or not attainable. Some just say I will work till I drop dead. Some who have great retirements don't take them as the job is all they are. And that just half the country.
