You don't need patents to develop a robot, you just can't infringe on someone else's patents....Which I realize is difficult in this space.
I think that Verb is developing a robot and will sell it at a low capital cost. They can leverage the cost with other products Ethicon and JnJ have. Others cannot do that...
Titan alludes to this in the annual report posted yesterday. They aren't hanging their hat on one product like ISRG,Titan, TRXC.....Verb has JnJ/Google behind them, you want to copy our robot and compete against us and everything we can offer our customers and by the way our software? Good luck with that...
Also their platform is just a part of their business plan, software is a biggie for them, GOOGLE!
They could still buy or partner with Titan but I don't think SPORT is their mystery robot and the reason for all of their recent job postings.
Titan did animal and cadaver testing years ago. The fact that Verb/Ethicon is hiring for clinical studies doesn't really give you a good idea of where they are in development IMO.
Really hoping to be dead wrong...
