I think he has answered that implicitly. He says regrets the money that has been wasted by both sides, and how both sides have been hurt by the law suits. It doesn't sound like he is all that keen to throw good money after bad, and who would be?
Not to put words in his mouth, but based on his previous comments, I assume Bill is hoping that the settlement conference will be successful. I think success would have to include mutual releases and a cessation of hostilities. As far as I can tell, only one person here thinks the best course of action would be to increase hostilities and litigate to the death.
