I wonder about the term "recreational drug."

Marijuana is a recreational drug. So is alcohol. Cocaine is a recreational drug.

I mean, we don't need the stuff to benefit our physical health but we take it because of what it does to our minds.

And why is there a beginning age such as 18 for the legal use of marijuana?
