Colistin , from what I know , is the current last line of defense when patients don't respond to standard antibiotics such as penicillin . Not only does this drug have toxic side effects to kidneys and the nervous system , its becoming less effective ...

Plazomicin ( AKAO ) appears to be more effective with fewer side effects
