RTS, actually it isn't-- you certainly don't buck the trend by thinking your 5 minute charts are telling you the truth. I pretty much approach currency trading the same way I approach everything else I trade -- the only difference is in the amount of leverage they allow you to hang yourself with. Sometimes I'll make a trade, walk away from the computer to get myself a cup of coffee only to find myself a couple of thousand dollars in the hole (and talk about dry mouth) when I return.

It's really important to play the longer term trends, and I can't stress that enough.
