Puhleeeze! They'd send us an apprentice and the kid would be great. After two weeks he'd have learned to slow to their pace.
They'd rather sit at home 2 days a week than work 5 at a lower pay.
I'd show up on the site and not only were they sitting around, they'd expect me to pay for the lunch wagon for them.
Then, heaven forbid you try to help them or bring out a different union member.
And this was in the center of one of the big union cities up north.

Got to the point we were much better off hiring non union shops to do our union work.
