What's the message here?
The intended message (see below) is that of an owner of a private company that wants to employ any available person for open job positions.
I can accept this with the following caveats. (Specific to a Mexican citizen wanting to obtain work in the United States.)
Just like Canada requires before any United States citizen can relocate to Canada and obtain employment, the employer must certify that no Canadian citizen is available for that job opening.
The border is open, but one must still travel both ways as is now the case through existing border checkpoints. Here a valid statement of employment, as noted above, is required to work in the United States and that delivers to the Mexican person a certificate that they are not an illegal immigrant once inside the United States for the specified job and time duration determined to complete the job.
Here I accept as needed is that Trump impregnability wall on all sides of the border checkpoints.
This does not address the current illegal immigrant situation.
Also, what about Mexicans wanting a new life in the United States having no agreed upon job waiting for them, but they have the ability to create jobs just like the original immigrants to the United States a hundred years ago.
"... such ad was imagined by the family-owned company 84 Lumber"
“Ignoring the border wall and the conversation around immigration that’s taking place in the media and at every kitchen table in America just didn’t seem right,” said Rob Schapiro, the chief client officer at Brunner, the agency that worked with 84 Lumber to come up with the ad. “If everyone else is trying to avoid controversy, isn’t that the time when brands should take a stand for what they believe in?”
“The commercial that will air during the Super Bowl does not have the ending we originally wanted, but the message has not changed,” Schapiro said. “Our message is that America is the land of opportunity and 84 Lumber is the company of opportunity.”
