Good articles. Thanks for posting the link. But, look at it this way. Progress does not come in a straight line. In order to appreciate the good stuff, one needs to go back and experience how things were in the past. It's part of collective "learning and discovery" in the modern age of twits and transition to the new order of social media with ease of access to communication. Learning is a slow process. 2 steps forward one back. Often I'm surprised how slow is the growing process from watching my own grandchildren. Wonderful kids in a totally new social and media environment. It's a different world that is developing.
We learn by seeing and observing contrasts. We know experience is the best teacher, and it happens best at personal level. Academic learning has never been adequate and can never be without experiencing life of the times. And, life is has it's own presence and impact while we pursue our own paths and realities... personal wants, needs, visions and aspirations. As a young man I pushed the limits on and it took me several decades to learn how to balance and moderate within my own means and ways and survive within my own comfort and limits while still pushing the limits. Higher education can be of some help and knowing history important . A few years in the learning process for a collective of humans... to educate a new generation in a different context may be better to help better understanding of values. GLTY & GLTA
