It was a 'joke', but I'm guessing the "plan" would be to 'pump' the stock?? lol 
Really, I have no idea, BUT as you and others have pointed out, the news being posted is Old AND (by my understanding) Untrue due to the deal/merger being terminated. UNLESS, of course, that "Deal" is back on somehow....(which I doubt and have no knowledge of).
