Do exosomes contain DNA that can be traced to the cancerous organ?

"we show for the first time the presence of dsDNA in exosomes representing the whole genomic DNA. Our finding that exoDNA can be used to identify mutations present in parental tumor cells illustrates its significant translational potential as a circulating biomarker for cancer in the clinic. ExoDNA is an attractive, potential biomarker candidate in the early detection of cancers and the monitoring of treatment response for several reasons: its protection and thus inherent stability within exosomes; the possibility to isolate or enrich tumor-derived exosomes in complex plasma samples via exosomal surface markers; and its easy and fast preparation."
