KK, The origin of the word Kauphy…
Came from a ‘story’ told to a much younger me by my Father.

It seems there was a college football star (U of MI ?) who, following the stereotype, was academically challenged. He was failing miserably in his English course, and rules being rules, found himself disqualified from playing in the upcoming “Big Game” because of his poor marks.

His English Professor, being a big football fan, offered him a one-time make-up test to regain his playing status. The test was to spell one word, and the football star would pass the test should he get only one letter of the word correct.

The word was “coffee”. He spelled it “kauphy”!

P.S.
I also looked up the word before using it… juuust in case of some possible obscure usage.
