In Pennsylvania, greg, we have three poisonous snakes. They are the copperhead, eastern timber rattler and the Massasaugua rattler. The Massasaugua is a pygmy rattler, and seldom gets more than 30 inches long. I have seen timber rattlers that were in the neighborhood of six feet in length and as thick around as my arm.

Water moccasins are found mostly in the south. The northern terminus of their range is Dismal Swamp in southeastern Virginia.
