I never said you would have to pay any fees or taxes on your shoes...though you most definitely did pay taxes on those shoes when you bought them so you aren't right there anyway.

But back to what I actually said... I had said "In reality, you don't actually "own" anything. You just have the right to possess. The government owns everything you possess, legally." And that is a true statement. If you don't believe it, look up the word escheat and see what happens to your property if you die without heirs or a will.
