If there is such a benchmark, I don't know what it would be. Great idea though. Short of finding a trade publication devoted to that specific industry, you may be stuck with tracking sales for the top 3 or 4 manufacturers of fire proof safes individually, to see if there is a trend common to all 3 or 4 manufacturers.

That would certainly be a leading indicator of the sentiment of the public - the 99% of us.
