Well, at least they didn't pretend it was real news. I don't know what the local guys here do; I never watch local news unless there's a big snowstorm or something.

When I came back to the States for a visit after I'd been in Italy for awhile, I noticed changes. The Panamanian crisis had just blown up. So I tuned in to the 11 o'clock news to find out what was going on (I'd just arrived earlier in the day). To my bewilderment, their "report" on the situation consisted of them getting comment from "area residents" who'd either once lived in Panama, or maybe knew somebody who'd lived in Panama.

It was just ridiculous.
