Donald Trump wants to increase America’s military force in the Asia-Pacific

November 17, 201612:43pm .. tiny bit ..

Asia-Pacific security expert Jingdong Yuan from the Centre For International Security Studies told news.com.au said it was achievable. He said Mr Trump will
be able to work with the Republican-controlled Congress to do away with the sequester process that automatically cut $500 billion in defence over a decade.

Course that word "sequester" caught the eye .. so that's 350 ships instead of 247, just as ships go .. yup, you know
where the money will come from as this is what the Republicans wanted to do 4 years ago leading to the 2013 sequester

By Republicans in Congress

The Republican House had narrowly passed a bill on December 20, 2012, which would have replaced only the defense side of the sequester with cuts to programs including food stamps, Dodd-Frank and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. In February with their reduced majority, key Republicans admitted that they would not be able to pass the bill again, even in the House. Nevertheless, many Republicans believed that the bill would serve as a template for what they wanted: no tax increases, no defense cuts, and considerable domestic spending reductions

Of course, the money will come from programs or policies that are there for the protection and care of many of the people who voted for Trump.

On the plus side you'd think there would be some American jobs in building more ships. I'm assuming
some would be built. You've read some Australian politicians are already salivating over the proposition.

How about the steel? Most efficiently so as not to waste moola i guess it could/should
come from China. Or somewhere else overseas, but could be more American jobs there.

Will the deficit-focused Republicans in Congress who pushed for the sequester do an easy flip for P... Trump on that sequester?
