when you asked, say 1:15pm NY .. 5:15am here

since California now is 19h behind the easiest way for you to get Sydney time is
just to minus 5h (making you 24h behind) .. then jump ahead a day for the date

It's 8:47am here now .. :) .. and the American election is featuring on tv news .. lol
