Yipe... this does not sound good...

almost weekly, another apartment complex goes up in flames

We have building codes that require fire walls. Believe they are strictly enforced at least in the area I was in after I left Manhattan. When Parsippany exploded in growth, we had a corrupt mayor who had ties to the seedier side of the construction business. Let a lot of apartments go up without forcing compliance. Lost two buildings in one complex on the same night because there were no firewalls... that was when folks began to realize the depth of his corruption.

I am just so glad to be in this house. Not just the privacy and the land... Silly things like having your own washer and dryer... I'd be rich if I had all the quarters I put into laundry over the years.
