SilverSurfer, can only look at the disparity in cost per capita between Australia and USA ..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_health_expenditure_per_capita ..

and see you guys need a universal levy for a start .. could be wrong, but Obamacare in the end
i think maybe was almost as much a result of Republican input as it was a Democrat creation ..

as insurance companies have so much influence in US, as they do here, forget total single payer, i'd think .. and
big government v small government thought should not be part of the equation, all that malarkey should be thrown out of
consideration .. your best scenario in whatever relative short/medium/long term future surely would be something as Australia's ..

here the govt gives a tax rebate for those with private insurance to keep that industry going and, i guess, to take some pressure off federal costs

i think until i die i'll believe you have too many atates .. you 50 states and a district .. we 6 states and 2 territories ..

your healthcare cost/capita in this one roughly twice ours ..

United States vs. Australia

actually that's a pretty good comparison site

in every country there will always be people who abuse the healthcare system, but most i think only see doctors when they really feel they have to, or should

i pay $244/m for my top private single .. whether it be insurance companies, medical suppliers, the medical profession,
drug companies or a combination of all and more surely someone has been/is ripping the general public off

It was Plato who said, “He, O men, is the wisest, who like Socrates, knows that his wisdom is in truth worth nothing”
