Sand-colored... a wise choice
in that Texas heat.
Not Black... Black cherry (a deep maroon) with a black cherry interior... I bought the car used... no choice in color. So it goes. It gets hotter than freakin' hell in this weather. TG for a/c. I am toying with having it repainted... part of my fantasy of getting another 4 to 5 years out of it. We turned 175,000 miles on the Home Depot trip this morning. I'm going for 250,000 to 300,000. Stubborn here... hate car payments.

Texas driver was doing about 70 when I started to pass... by the time I got around her, I was doing 80. <ggg> You cats are so competitive.
Still in sultry mode right now. Made it through the day without the a/c though I may have to resort to it so I can sleep. Still waiting for the weather to break. T-storms promised but now it is only windy (nice) and heavy with anticipation.
Age and outdoor work in heat: I don't have to wait a couple of years. I've never been able to handle it... Take after the English side of the family. Mumsy would go into a walking coma whenever it got like this. I'm not much better. If I move when I retire... it will be north. I like it cold.
No idea what a crape myrtle tree looks like. I may have to do an internet search. I am surrounded by pines, walnut trees, and oaks. I love our woods.
Hope you got your heavy collectibles dealt with. My box fan died today. I use it to blow the a/c into the bedroom. Got it as a hand-me-down about 20 years ago so I'm not too upset about having to spend money to buy another. <ggg> I'm going to put it out with the regular trash on Wednesday. If they don't pick it up, I'll wrap it in a black garbage bag... bet it disappears then. Such games we have to play these days.
Tuna salad waiting. Read a study this week that old people who eat fish at least once a week are less likely to get Alzheimer's. I despise fish but can tolerate tuna fish... I make it with scallions and carrots... season it with Beau Monde (fancy celery salt), celery seed, and a little onion salt. I'll eat it on a bed of red leaf lettuce (my favorite) with a cut up tomato... can hardly wait for the Jersey tomatoes to come into season... They are the best.
