A Democratic senator sent a warning to Donald Trump Saturday: if Hillary Clinton is killed "the blood will be on your hands."

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) took to Twitter to condemn Trump's comments about disarming Clinton's bodyguards and seeing "what happens," tweeting Trump directly with his warning.

Murphy previously criticized Trump's "Second Amendment people" remark, saying it qualified as an assassination threat and calling for a Secret Service investigation, according to The Hill .. http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/296457-dem-senator-to-trump-blood-will-be-on-your-hands-if .

Murphy is not the only Democrat speaking up. Former Arizona congresswoman Gabby Giffords, who survived her own assassination attempt, released a statement on Twitter condemning the comments and calling Trump "reckless" and "irresponsible."
