Stephanie -- it'll be wonderful if he makes it to/past 20 -- as a male, he gets more cuddling-friendly as he gets older (younger male cats tend not to be so much for that, not unfriendly, just not into extended close contact such as resting together) -- the cat I had when I was younger made it 17 years and 4 months -- and fwiw my vet then told me that was quite a ripe old age for a cat
