Are there competing advertising bundlers that could have handled this in a more customer friendly way? If so, I would like to hear IHUB's take on THAT.

Maybe, although Google is the biggest and, as I understand it, the most effective. Also, the input of IHub itself on this perhaps isn't the critical factor. Advertising is mostly handled by ADVFN in London.
