Well, from blogs it seems that is the very thing they saw--the use of the clone tool. Seems to have slipped past the Reuters editors until some Photoshop adept bloggers pointed it out. Now they are looking at prior work of this photographer, and seem to be finding other questionable images.
I believe the following site was the source for calling Adnan Hajj's work into question. It explains how the images were "Shopped".
