They need drone pylons that can stay up for around 30 minutes at around 1000 feet. Then the jet hover racers can race around those pylons knowing that their chutes will have plenty of time to open in case of pilot error or system malfunction.

Then really the only thing that can go wrong is mid air collisions which can't happen if its just a solo time trial around the pylons.
