No, this patent is even bigger than the procedure, IMHO. This is the patent that is at the core of what Columbia licensed to Titan in the first place.

I'm no patent attorney, but if I'm reading this patent correctly it is written broadly enough to cover just about any robotic surgery device that implements the SPORT/IREP model. I'd love to ask a patent lawyer if this patent even covers daVinci Sp.
