UAE's first 'Smart Homes' on Reem Island: 'Smart homes' featuring a unique lifestyle by networking consumer electronics are poised to become a reality soon in the UAE. Etisalat and South Korea's Samsung announced their partnership and unveiled a 'smart home' featuring a whole range of devices and appliances that are all linked by Samsung's HomeVita solution and Etisalat's voice and data network in the presence of Shaikh Tahnoun Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and others.The first 'smart homes' are expected to come up on Abu Dhabi's Reem Island with investments running into millions of dirhams.
"The 'smart home' concept stands for what Etisalat aims to empower all its customers with. Putting technology to work for our customers is our aim and with the HomeVita solution this will soon be a reality," said Mohammad Khalfan Al Qamzi, Chief Executive of Etisalat. "Voice and data access, entertainment, health checks and even security will be at the fingertips of every home owner soon. This is Etisalat's vision of the future."
'Smart home' Features:
The 'smart home' will allow you to identify your guest at your gate by conversing with him on the screen, lets you manage your front door from outside your home through the Internet and mobile phone and lets you screen visitors.
It allows you open your parking garage gate for your visitor's car after conversing with him, lets you manage your gas valve while you are outside, lets you turn your house lights on and off during vacation or absence to prevent theft and lets you check on visitors during your absence through the visitors' stored digital video files.
It also allows you to take care of your family members especially children and the elderly through a web camera and emergency situations can be detected by your gate magnet sensor or alarm service and a lot more.
