Genflow Biosciences CEO welcomes new investment; outlines dog longevity trial

Genflow Biosciences PLC CEO Dr Eric Leire talked with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about a pivotal new direction for the company as it initiates a clinical trial focused on improving aging in dogs. Leire described the trial as a natural evolution from Genflow's previous success in mice, noting the commercial appeal of the canine market. “There is nothing to improve really the quality of life of our aging dogs,” he said, adding that the study meets a significant unmet need. Leire also highlighted the company’s differentiated approach compared to US competitors using repurposed drugs like metformin. Genflow, he said, is pursuing gene therapy with the potential for greater impact. The investment supporting the trial, although limited in size, is seen as a strategic vote of confidence, bringing in credible investors from outside the UK, including the US. Qualitas funds soar as banks step back

Qualitas Ltd Group Managing Director Andrew Schwartz talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap conference about the company's differentiated position in Australia's real estate investment management landscape. Andrew Schwartz explained that Qualitas operates at scale, supported by large institutional capital. “Some of those investors literally commit amounts of 1.7 billion and above to Qualitas,” he said, noting the firm can fund projects with hundreds of millions—territory once dominated by traditional banks. Schwartz highlighted the company’s deep property expertise, developed over decades, as a key driver of performance. He said, “We are deep sector, deep dive property people,” which allows them to manage funds based not just on lending metrics but also on underlying property fundamentals. The conversation also addressed Qualitas’ notable growth in funds management revenue since its 2021 IPO. Schwartz attributed this to structural shifts in the Australian finance market, where banks still represent 77% of a AU$477 billion sector—but their share is shrinking. “We’ve really got the benefit of filling a void in the market that the bank market just can’t fill,” he said. BluGlass talks quantum sensing & commercial wins

BluGlass Head of Corporate and Investor Relations Stefanie Winwood talked with Proactive at the AIM's Small and Midcap Conference about the company’s work in gallium nitride (GaN) laser technology and its growing role in quantum sensing, computing, and defense applications. Winwood explained that gallium nitride is a compound semiconductor that can conduct electrons significantly faster than traditional silicon. Biome Australia expands global footprint, targets strong growth in clinically proven Probiotics
