Fiderer looks at Fannie from an isolated perspective. The problems leading up to the crisis are not derivative of actions from any one player in the show. Government played a role. Banks played a role. Hedge funds played a role. Fannie Mae played a role. There is plenty of blame to go around.

Fiderer chooses to single out the government as the root cause of everything bad in the financial crisis and housing bubble bursting. Consequently, the core of much of his analysis which is well researched and even partially or largely valid gets tainted and discredited because of plainly discernible animus against Treasury and government.
