Live Playoffs Night 2

As per my usual all notes were taken before the coaches comments and not changed.


Pharrell's Come Back Choice Daniel Passino - I liked this guy from his audition on. However, while the song was done well, something was missing, I did not like it. B-

Team Pharrell's Emily Keener - Great song choice, but one has to be very careful when doing a classic. A good effort and parts of it were enjoyable. B-

Team Adam's Laith Al-Saadi - Good choice, another classic. Laith rocked this out, a good performance. I am still waiting for for blues from Laith as we know he can do them, whether they be rock, country or pop. B+

Team Pharrell's Moushumi - Bad song choice, it does let her flex and show her voice, as Pharrell stated, it is kind of one big constant of a song. It was mousy, too breathy and too one-note; maybe should have been performed almost acapella to let it be more front and center. C

Team Pharrell's Lacy Mandigo - Good song choice and Lacy aced it with a great performance. A-

Team Adam's Owen Danoff - Really nice song and a strong performance - I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. Good song, good guitar and good voice. A

Team Adam's Shalyah Fearing - Not her best, we know how good this artist is so we know she do better. Still, it was a good performance, but I felt like she was pushing too hard and lost some of the 'purity' sound that her has. A-

Adam's Come Back Choice - Nate Butler - Great song choice, a true fav'. This was soul song without soul, he was good, but there was 'cry,' no 'hurt' and no 'pain,' B-

Team Pharrell's Caity Peters - She started off weak and stayed there; it got a little better but not enough. C-

Team Adam's Caroline Burns - It was a good performance, I wish it had more 'push' though; we know she can do it. There is something in this girls voice that I like. B+

Team Adam's Brian Nhira - Didn't like the song choice. Brain did as good as the song allowed him. A real shame, I like guy, he 's got a very good voice. B-

Team Pharrell's Hannah Huston - Nice way to end the night. A very solid performance from a very talented singer. I wish the screeches were a bit softer and melodic instead of so 'angry.' A-


Another good night of music. If I were selecting who stayed it would be:

Team Adam: Brian, Shalyah and Owen.

Team Pharrell: Emily, Hannah and Lacy.


It's going to be interesting to see the two voted off of each team, and the the pick from the coach of each team from the next two lowest voted contestants.

Has anybody else noticed that the awesome band of the past seems to be a bit less this year?
