you might want to wait - they've turned off their ads for now because they've been so overwhelmed from the yahoo diaspora that their servers can't handle the new traffic and serving ads. As soon as they beef up their servers, they'll turn the ads back on and you can compare apples to apples between here and there. Here's a message I got from another IV board about this:
I hope the apparent absence of ads hasn't misled anyone about our revenue model. If so, it was unintentional. We simply had no choice but to strip out anything that might tax performance so we could handle the unprecedented traffic growth flowing to our site. We are working to install a much more robust server that can scale up reliably to many times current traffic (just in case!). For the record, we do not sell email addresses. Certainly we will consider permission based email marketing campaigns, meaning that members will have the ability to opt in or out of receiving such messages from us.
We would then deliver an advertiser's message to an opt-in member. But we would not share or sell that email address to the advertiser or anyone else, as per our privacy policy
which we strictly adhere to and take very seriously.
Hopefully our site will soon be able to support ads so that we can begin generating revenue again!
I hope that answers your question.
Best of luck to you and thanks for your support!
