Virtual Incision's robot "working end" has appeared on this board before. An example of a surgical robot where the articulating joints and effector motions are driven by motors in the limbs themselves. A fine idea and one that will continue to be more powerful as it is miniaturized. As I've said before, it is hardly a 'virtual' incision; it is at a minimum an MIS device.
I think they are over-hyping it a bit in their releases.

I highly suspect the colon resection procedures were not performed entirely by the robot. It is a fairly big device to be functioning in any space that could be obtained inside the abdominal cavity for MIS. Our surgeons can weigh in on that.

I agree: another competitor on the horizon, and backed by university-quality engineering and probably a good amount of IP promotion.
