-- Implant Sciences [IMX] last month terminated a distribution agreement it had
with Homeland Integrated Security Systems [HISC], which had been the authorized
distributor of its Quantum Sniffer-H100 handheld and BT100 desktop explosives
trace detection devices in Lebanon, because the company wasn't performing up to
expectations, Implant says in a filing with the Securities and Exchange
Commission. Last year HISS said it had received a purchase order for 200 Quantum
Sniffers from a Lebanese security company. Then in December Implant said that
HISS had agreed on an initial purchase of 50 units (TR2, Dec. 14, 2005). But
HISS never took delivery of those units. Now Implant says it's negotiating with
one of its distributors to expand their territory and assume exclusive sales and
marketing responsibilities in Lebanon.
