The OS will address 64 bit code just like that. the solution is the chip AND THE OS, not just the chip and not just the OS. It is the two together which decide what runs and how. It will run in the mode allowed by the chip it is running on and the application's capabilties. It is very flexible, which is where the compatibility comes from for all apllications running on it. The G5 has 8GIG RAM capability. Do you think it would be there if the OS couldn't address it? Are you saying Apple just felt it would be nice to offer extra RAM slots because they looked nice on the motherboard?
