The hamster cheek model is the gold standard for screening for possible activity in oral mucositis in humans because of the similarity between hamster cheeks and human cheeks:

That said, no well-informed person would use the quantitative results in the hamster model to predict the quantitative clinical response in humans to anything closer than an order of magnitude.

That way lies madness- or at least bad investment decisions and extreme disappointment.
