saral- maybe the school systems everywhere, not just calif., spend too much money in the wrong areas. the teachers always seem to make out okay, and so do the administrators. I never understood why a teacher needed to have a phd to teach ancient history, basic math, english, etc etc etc. It's not like these things change from year to year. Last I heard 2+2 was still 4, the roman empire didn't "uncollapse", and most words are still spelled the same as they were 50 years ago.
