I wonder that sometimes as well (if I ever sleep..), though this is truly a puzzle that will never be able to be duplicated. First you need such a paradigm shift in biotech for it to be possible.... and then you actually need several sabotage attempts and it all go awry, in a way where some wouldn't have expected or some just playing their role and not realizing how big of a role they may have played.
For example... if JB was offered a role and maybe she justified her actions by actually thinking that the drug (Bavituximab) sought after would be in better hands by some big conglomerate to advance ? ... or maybe she justified it by actually believing that a small biotech would never handle such a mission to deliver such a paradigm shifting drug ??
I don't know what she was thinking, but she certainly must be thinking now Peregrine could have certainly handled the task to advance Bavituximab and if things went differently, could you imagine Peregrine keeping every single employee they had on their team with the Abbvie deal ?
I think the way things turned out.... Peregrine had the chance to flush out all they wanted, and now had better prepared for Bavituximab commercialization.
Every negative post forces me to dig deeper and I make it sort of my mission to try and deliver something of value for every non-valued post that appears and that is why I probably can never sleep : )

"Bavituximab is a first-in-class phosphatidylserine (PS)-targeting monoclonal antibody that is the cornerstone of a broad clinical
pipeline." -- Big Pharmas nightmare... unless they are fortunate enough to have The Bavi Edge!
