Smart Card Marketing Systems Inc. Smart Card's corporate merchants continue to expand the reach of their products and services and this latest development is a crucial step for the company's goal to grow their business in foreign markets. A few key resellers of Smart Card's co-branded card program have commenced a pilot for the Florida video lottery market and the initial interest have been very promising. These merchants have found a niche for the Smart Card closed loop cards to be used as a payout for lottery winnings in the state of Florida. The cards will have the functionality and capability of an ATM card and will allow for restricted no tolerance use at participating tobacco and alcohol retailers.

It is estimated that there are over three hundred locations already operating in the state of Florida that use gift cards as lottery payouts and they limit the card usage to the participating retailer. The company's anticipated goal for this program is to convert the existing gift cards used in the Florida video lottery market to cards that utilize Smart Card's leading edge technology. The initial pilot has commenced using four video lottery merchants in the area and the average payout per card is between $25.00 and $400.00.
