Regarding the hog farm operation. Probably like most here, I never put much stock into it. Didn't seem like to big a deal. Just testing with hog manure. But reading a little more about it has changed my mind some.
I was reading about carbon credits and carbon taxes and came across this from Duke Energy. Could be a pretty big deal imo.
In turn, Duke Energy will pass donations to NC GreenPower, a statewide nonprofit, to purchase carbon credits which support certified carbon offset projects on your behalf. The carbon projects may include methane capture from landfill or hog lagoon projects that are certified by a third party that provides accurate and transparent measurement, verification and tracking of greenhouse gas reductions and their inventories. https://www.duke-energy.com/north-carolina/products/carolina-carbon-offset-program.asp
