I have just a few comments:

1.Getting into USA FDA sanctioned clinical trials is a multi-million $$ process.
2. An orphan drug will have several gov incentives to get into the market. That is in my opinion a huge validating point for XKEM and its drugs.
3. SCD has very few treatment options and all are full of side effects
4. SCD is a gene linked disorder affecting African descendants. In the US since it is described as a rare disorder it is underdiagnosed and when someone with chronic pain come to the office it is often the less thought diagnosis.
5. It is frequent in PR and the rest of latin america!!!
6. Any company with the first safe effective treatment for this condition is going to be huge. I think the company is a winner and more awareness is going to come to this country about it. After I heard about it I have thought of a chronic pain patient and he tested positive for sickle cell! But now what? We need this drug. The attention will be there fast.
