I would... I generally do a daily 12-hour fast by not eating any solid food following dinner (6:30 pm) and breakfast (6:30 am) which gives my digestive tract and liver/kidneys a rest... It's one of the things I picked up from the Perfect Health Diet by Drs. Paul and Shou-Ching Jaminet. Fasts, cleanses and detoxes are often sugary carb loaded drinks/juices and provide very little if any protein (amino acids) required of the body and the liver in particular when detoxing. Being sugar-free and loaded with amino acids, magnesium, B vitamins and the antioxidant Vitamin C, it would make this an excellent choice for a quick fast/cleanse/detox. For anything longer than 12-24 hours I would recommend looking at adding a few other amino acids to further support the glutathione pathway, such as methionine and cysteine... and some Riboflavin (B2)...

Magnesium and Niacin (B3) are both cofactors of P450 Phase 1 detoxification... B6 and B12 are also required...

The activity of phase I detoxification enzymes decreases in old age. Aging also decreases blood flow through the liver, further aggravating the problem. Lack of the physical activity necessary for good circulation, combined with the poor nutrition commonly seen in the elderly, add up to a significant impairment of detoxification capacity, which is typically found in aging. The boost in energy and the increased circulation provided by the branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), and vasodilators Arginine and Niacin would help this.

If you already eat enough sulfur containing food you'd likely have enough sulphur-containing amino acids such as taurine and cysteine for efficient phase two detoxification. The nutrients glycine, glutamine, choline and inositol are also required for efficient phase two detoxification. Glutamine is included in Performance Punch...

You might find the TEDtalk "Minding Your Mitochondria" interesting... It's by Iowa City Veterans Affairs' Medical Center Assistant Chief of Staff, Dr. Terry Wahls:

The nutrients in Performance Punch would help mitochondrial dysfunction...

IMO... be sure to do your own DD and consult with your health care provider...
